Techtonic 2018: Disrupting Southeast Asia

From its massively successful debut in 2017, Techtonic, the Philippines’ largest tech conference is back this year with an even more improved format and roster of expected attendees. (PS. I say this with obvious partiality that might prevent me from being completely objective, as I'm one of the organizers of the event last year and Techtonic is close to my heart. :P)

With the theme, “Techtonic Summit 2018: Disrupting Southeast Asia” this year’s edition of the highly anticipated event is set to happen on June 22-23, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center Manila. I really wish I could go, but you know very well that's my birthday weekend -- and my birthday gift to myself is actually time off work. Haha! But I believe Blogapalooza will have a booth in the event.

Among the highlights of last year’s Techtonic event include a startup pitching competition headlined as “Startup Arena” wherein 20 startups are selected from hundreds of applicants from all over the world to pitch their businesses in front of a distinguished panel of judges for a chance to win cash prizes and exclusive mentorship. 2017 winner, ServeHappy from the Philippines, an online job marketplace for the hospitality and service industry, was awarded an equity-free grant of *drum roll* ... USD 10,000 (~PHP 500,000) CASH. YAY!

Now titled as “Ring of Fire”, the Techtonic 2018 startup pitching competition will yet again feature 20 trailblazing startups across Southeast Asia vying for the top spot. Apart from the USD 10,000 equity-free prize money, the winner will get VIP access to all closed-door events with investors and top priority status in business matching activities.

After a rigorous evaluation process, the Techtonic organizers have released the Top 20 startups competing in the Ring of Fire pitching competition, as follows:
